  • Get a letter of invitation or acceptance letter from a recognized university in Italy.
  • Have sufficient proof of funds to manage their stay in Italy.

What are the requirements for an Italy Study Visa 2024?

International students applying for Italy Study Visa would be required to submit the following supporting documents:

 

  • A valid passport, with at least two blank visa pages and valid for at least three months after the expected end date of your study program;
  • A letter of acceptance from your institution in Italy;
  • A completed visa application form;
  • A copy of your itinerary to and from Italy,
  • Proof of no criminal record;
  • Proof of language proficiency in Italian or English (depending on the language of your study program);
  • Proof of adequate financial means to support yourself (between €450 and €515 monthly);
  • Proof of adequate accommodation in Italy;
  • Proof of adequate medical insurance; and
  • Proof you’ve paid the associated application fee.

What is the process to apply for Italy Study Visa 2024?

STEP 1: Get accepted from a university in Italy, and pay the necessary fees to secure a place in the upcoming course/program. 

STEP 2: Get in touch with your nearest consulate or embassy and identify the exact visa process for your home country, including the documents, and the date and time of your interview for your Italy Study Visa application. 

STEP 3: Attend the visa interview and submit the documents asked by the officials. You will also be required to pay fees for this application. 

STEP 4: Wait for your results. If successful, you will receive your visa outcome in writing. 

STEP 5: Apply for a residence permit within eight days of arriving in Italy – by visiting your nearest Questura (a type of police station). EU students are also required to complete this step within 20 days of entering the country. 

STEP 6: Your residence permit may take a couple of months to be created. You will be issued a temporary document till that time.
